Riding here
In Yosemite Valley, a bike beats a car. About 12 miles of flat paved paths link the lodges, campgrounds, meadows and trailheads under El Capitan and Half Dome, with rentals in three spots and a free bike share in season. Strong road riders can take on Tioga Road or Glacier Point Road in summer, but mountain biking isn't allowed.
Where you can ride
Bikes may use the Yosemite Valley bike paths and regular park roads, obeying traffic laws.
Where you can't
No off-trail riding or mountain biking.

Shuttles and bikes
A free bike share opens in late spring, weather permitting: rides are limited to two hours and bikes go back to the station you took them from.
When to go
Valley paths are rideable most of the year; late spring and fall are best. High-country roads (Tioga, Glacier Point) open in summer.
Safety
Helmets are required by law for riders under 18. Stay on roads and paved paths.
E-bikes
E-bikes with working pedals and motors under 750 watts are allowed wherever bikes are; the bike-path speed limit is 15 mph. E-scooters are allowed on bike paths but not on park roads.
Fees and reservations
Arriving by bike, you pay the park's individual (per-person) entrance fee, normally valid for 7 days, or ride in on an annual or America the Beautiful pass. Amounts change, so check the park's Fees & Passes page. From 2026, non-US residents aged 16 and over pay an extra $100 per person at this park unless covered by a pass (the non-resident America the Beautiful pass is $250).
Yosemite has used peak-season vehicle reservations in recent summers; the biking page lists none for cyclists (only adaptive bikes can be reserved). Check the park's reservations page.
