Bryce Canyon National Park

Eighteen paved, car-free miles from Red Canyon's hoodoos to Inspiration Point.

4/5
Great riding

An 18-mile paved shared-use path links Red Canyon to Inspiration Point, so families can ride to the hoodoos without traffic.

Riding here

Bryce is one of the easiest national parks to ride with kids: a paved shared-use path runs from Red Canyon, on the edge of the plateau, all the way to Inspiration Point on the rim of the amphitheater. Stronger riders can add the park's scenic drive, which keeps climbing south toward Rainbow Point at over 9,000 feet.

Where you can ride

Bicycles may use the paved Bryce Canyon Shared Use Path and park roads open to vehicles.

Where you can't

Bikes are not allowed on unpaved surfaces, which rules out the rim and canyon trails. Horses and motor vehicles (other than mobility devices) are barred from the path.

When to go

Bryce sits at 8,000 to 9,000 feet, so riding season runs late spring to early fall. Summer afternoons bring thunderstorms; snow is possible into May and from October.

Closures and restrictions

The park posted a 2026 shared-use path construction project; check the park's alerts for path closures before you go.

Safety

Altitude makes climbs harder than they look. Watch for pedestrians on the path and for cars at road crossings. Bring layers: mornings are cold even in summer.

E-bikes

E-bikes may use the shared-use path if they have fully working pedals and a motor under 750 watts. The park doesn't specify classes.

Fees

Arriving by bike, you pay the park's individual (per-person) entrance fee, normally valid for 7 days, or ride in on an annual or America the Beautiful pass. Amounts change, so check the park's Fees & Passes page. From 2026, non-US residents aged 16 and over pay an extra $100 per person at this park unless covered by a pass (the non-resident America the Beautiful pass is $250).
